Another update about my son.

Well we went back to the hospital to see the doctor yesterday (Wednesday) and we threw loads of questions at her, which she happily answered. The one answer which we wasn't expecting was which type of epilepsy Josh as, we was hoping it was the same as what my daughter suffered from, which was childhood epilepsy and she outgrew it. The one Josh as is grand-mal, which in other words for those who don't know, it means he'll have it all his life and he'll be on medication for all his life too.  I can't begin to think about Christmas, I'm just too upset, I'm just thankful that I've got most of the presents already and a wonderful husband who is there giving me loads of love and hugs. And I'm thankful for the wonderful friend who's been there for me too, although she lives 200 miles away, so big hugs and thanks to Nicki (indicards).

Update on my son Joshua

Thought I'd give a update on my son Joshua, he had an appointment for an EEG on Monday (5th) and was told that it could be 2-3 weeks before I knew the results. Well on Wednesday (7th) while he was at school he was playing outside, and he had a massive seizure which lasted about 6 minutes. Which when he went down, his face took most of the impact and if you can bear to look at the photos below, you can see just how much damage he did. Thankfully no broken bones, but we won't know for sure until all the swelling as gone down. When we got to the hospital one of the doctor's was so angry about how long we would have to wait for the EEG results he went and chased them up. The results came back showing that Joshua had abnormal brain waves, hopefully we'll know more when we go back on Wednesday. They've started him on Sodium Valporate, 300mg twice a day, and next week this increases to 500mg twice a day, and then we'll see how we go from there. We're thankful that Joshua as been diagnosed with Epilepsy, just not happy that he had to sustain such a battered face to get the results.

Here are the photos of Joshua,
I'm sorry if they aren't very nice.

Another Bad Week

Well I've had another bad week with my 14yr old son Josh, as I said in my last post he had a seizure during the night and we spent the day in hospital. Well in the last fortnight Josh has had 2 more seizures, one during the night and one on Sunday while eating his tea, we got no warning that he was going to have one, only my other son screaming that Josh was sprawled across the table having a seizure.  This has to be the worst seizure I've seen him have so far, and it took him ages to start to come out of it. We was taken to hospital and we had to spend the night, which for anyone who's had to stay in hospital you spend more time awake then asleep. We've finally been given some medication that doesn't stop the seizures just makes him relax while he's having one. We were hoping that he would have had an EEG yesterday but because of colds, there was a staff shortage, so we have to wait for a letter then I can ring and make an appointment.  I hate all this waiting around never knowing if he's going to have another seizure and when, I'm not sleeping too well either as I keep getting up every couple of hours to check on him.
I'm hoping to make some Christmas cards in the next few days, so I'll post them if I get any made.
Thanks for reading and sorry for the long post.

What A Week

Well I have to say I'm glad that this week is over. What started off as a good week went down hill really quickly. On Tuesday at 5.15am my youngest son Tommy came into my bedroom and told me that Joshua was making funny noises, I'm so glad the noise woke Tommy up. I rushed into their room and Josh was having a seizure, and with him being on his front he was smoothering himself, I tried to put him on his side with no luck, he's 14 and small for his age, he has global developmental delay and autism, and he was a dead weight. So my husband had managed to pull him over while I phoned for an ambulance, which I have to say they got here within 5 mins and where brilliant with Josh, by which time Josh was coming round from his seizure, but poor Josh didn't have a clue who we where or what was happening to him, which is heartbreaking. He's ok now and back to his old self and we're now waiting for an appointment for him to have an EEG which is not something we're looking forward to as he doesn't like his head being touched and he'll lash out.
The only let down was the aftercare we recieved at the hospital, Josh was given a examination when he went onto the childrens ward and afterwards was put into the play area and because having a seizure can leave you tired and all you want to do is sleep there was no bed or anything that he could lay down on. So when we got home we both went to bed totally exhausted. Sorry about the long post.

Here are my lovely sons Joshua, Tommy and me in Spain, I love this photo.

Another Bookatrix

This is an order for another sister-in-law for her daughter who is 30 on Saturday. She gave me a list of things that she didn't want on it, which didn't leave me much to work with. She did say she was interested in going shopping, which is what most women love doing. But I thought it has to be a bit more special and I generally do the shopaholic cards on every day cards.

So this is the end result

A close up of the topper

Close up of the verse, which I personalised.

Everyting is from my stash box.

Bookatrix Order

I've made this bookatrix for my sister-in-law for a wedding on Saturday. The funny thing is when she was looking through my photo album of ones I had made before, she picked the one that I had made for her and my brother.

Once again everything is from my stash box apart from the backing card that you can see in the background, which is from Hobbycraft, which was £1.99 for 10 different size/pattern sheets of cards, bargain. And the roses I had to order in because I didn't have the right size and they are from Wild Orchid Crafts, which when I started shopping things kept falling into my basket.

Here is a photo of the card that I made for my sister-n-laws wedding.
Sorry about the glare from the flash, I'm not to clever at taking photos.

I have to say out of all of the Glitter Girls boards the Bookatrix has to be my all time favourite, and in my opinion it's great for all those special occasion cards.

Birthday Card for Luke

This is a card for my stepson Luke who will be 26 while I'm away on my hols, so have been trying to get all the birthday cards for September done before I go.
The image is from kennykdownloads and is called Cheers Dude, which is another great one for the males. Have used promarkers and decoupage the image to give it something extra, the backing papers are from Bearly Mine Designs, the letters are from a cuttlebug alphabet set and the sentiment is one that I made myself.
I'm entering this into the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz blog challenge using layers, I hope the decoupage applies as layers.

Picking Apples

Another card for the milkman, he says he'll get his cards from me in future because he likes how much care and attention I put into them. Plus he thinks shop bought ones are over priced, well that's the reason I started  making my own.

The stamp is called Picking Apples I think, I've had her for so long I can't remember, used promarkers on her. Used the large circle and scalloped circle nestibilities. Used a sizzix embossing folder which comes in a 2 pack called Dots and Flowers, the backing papers are from Bearly Mine Designs. Then used the retro flower punch from EK success for the flowers and added some gems. The sentiment is one that I made myself.

It's A Girl

This is for the  I ♥ ProMarkers blog challenge, which the theme is babies. Got the image from Pink Gem Designs and used promarkers on the bubbles then thought I'd glitter them up. The backing papers and sentiment are from Bearly Mine Designs which do some amazing papers and I use them all the time. Put some paper flowers on which I coloured with promarkers, the stamens are from a Crealies cutting die and added some gems. The border is from Martha Stewart and the corners are from cuttlebug.

It's A Boy

I made this for the I ♥ ProMarkers blog challenge, but I'm not too happy with it. The image is from Cuddly Buddly and the backing papers are from Bearly Mine Designs. The letters are Curls and Swirls from Provo Craft, which I've had for ages and never used, and added some gems.

Disco Diva

I've made this card for the KennyK Krafty Girls Blog challenge. I love the images and they're so easy to colour in, and I'm only just getting use to the promarkers. The backing papers are from Bearly Mine Designs which I just love using. The things in the left-hand corner are suppose to be cds, but I'm not to sure about them, but they'll have to do. Added a sentiment because I thought the card looked a bit lost without it.

Another Xmas Card

Have made about 12 of these for family and friends. Stamped the image several times then decoupaged it to give it more depth. Used promarkers, which I've been a bit hit and miss with until I found the right card to use them on.
